American Valve & Hydrant Honors Foundry for Fourth Time

May 7, 2015— Waupaca Foundry, was named supplier of the year for the fourth time from American Valve & Hydrant. The honor was earned by the ductile iron casting supplier located in Marinette, Wis., which was previously honored in 2011, 2009 and 2005. Waupaca Foundry is the largest producer of ductile and gray iron castings in the world. The foundry supplies ductile iron valves, bonnets and other parts for American Valve & Hydrant which are used in producing fire hydrants and other water works products.

American Valve & Hydrant ranks suppliers based on delivery performance and the percentage of high quality product received. The water works company also considers casting volume when suppliers’ performance is assessed. American Valve & Hydrant is located in Beaumont, Texas and is a manufacturer of water works products.

“Our team members are the true winners of this award,” said Dan Korpi, Waupaca Foundry Plant 4 plant manager. “This award was achieved based on consistent product quality which is a result of each team member paying attention to detail.” Korpi also says American Valve & Hydrant has been a customer for more than a decade and they have excellent two-way communications between customer and supplier.

Waupaca Foundry’s Plant 4 is located at 805 Ogden Street, Marinette, Wis., and employs more than 750 people.
